For your and guests’ safety and for your liability purposes, Prior to booking a yacht you should ensure that the yacht has the equipment shown below.

Our yachts are equipped with the following safety equipment:
  1. LIFE JACKETS:  Full complement of adult life jackets for the number of guests the vessel is legally qualified to carry which is a maximum of 12 guests
    Our Life Jackets are Transport Canada certified.

  2. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:  For each cabin below deck, and 1 on the upper deck in the wheelhouse. Fires can start anywhere even if there is no one in a cabin.
    Our Fire Extinguishers are Transport Canada certified.

  3. SOUND SIGNALLING DEVICE:  Vessel must carry a Whistle or Airhorn.
    Captain must be able to use this equipment.

  4. 3 LIFE RINGS WITH LIGHTS:  1 on the stern, 1 in wheelhouse and 1 on the bow. Plus 1-24” life ring which is suitable for children.
    3-30” Datrex DX0340D Bridge Buoy. USCG/SOLAS/MED/TC.
    1-24” Life Ring for children.
    Our Life Rings are Transport Canada certified.

  5. OPERATIONAL NAVIGATION LIGHTS:  Yacht owner MUST ensure that Navigation Lights are in proper operating order and the captain MUST ensure that the lights are working proper PRIOR to leaving dock for each cruise. Our captains check prior to each cruise.

  6. VHF RADIO:  Operational VHF radio with a Roc-M license.
    Captain must have a Radio Operator’s Certificate - Marine.

  7. HEAVING LINE:  A 50-foot Buoyant Throwing (Heaving) Line. click here

  8. CAPTAIN’S LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:  Bareboat charterer of the vessel will provide a licensed Captain for each cruise.
    a. Captain will require PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operator Card).
    b. Captain will require PVOC (Power Vessel Operator Card) from Ports Toronto.

  9. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS:  The maximum number of guests allowed on board is 12. No matter how large the yacht is.
    This is an international law (SOLAS) adopted by the Canada Shipping Act and there is absolutely no exception to this rule.

  10. WEEKLY INSPECTIONS:  Our yachts are inspected weekly by our Dock Master for all of the above. Even a little discrepancy (if any) is rectified immediately and prior to the yacht taking guests on board. We are very serious about the safety of our guests and crew.
